Bit confused about this thing, can someone help me?

Dear Anyone.

Went to YouTube to find out what the SY-1 sounded like and what I got was a guitar effects synthesizer. They were plugging a guitar into it and it was making the guitar sound odd! Is that what this is? Do I need a guitar in order to use it?

Here's a link to the only SY-1 I could find on YouTube....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjEJpB74CKc

and he's plugging a guitar into it and making it sound like an organ (lovely organ!) and all sorts. Will I need a guitar in order to use this, I'm asking because I don't play guitar, but if I can use it as a VST with a DAW I'd be interested if it's got the same sound as on the YouTube link.

Yours puzzledly

Chris.

Sounds like the real deal

I used to own one of these and this one sounds identified. Very well sampled. Even the not so desirable sounds and buzzes. Well done!
